ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME, GOD?  This is actually, no, no seriously, I’ve had dreams not this good.  Oh my god.  My soul is singing on every plane; my heart is a-flutter and my ears are euphoric.  Ohmygod.  Ohhhhhhh my god.

I really like Sam Mason’s show Dinner with the Band.  Sam Mason has always been a really cool guy.  He is talented and “avant-garde” without being preachy about it.  I passed him on the street once in 2007 and started giggling really nervously.  He gave me an odd glance, likely because he wasn’t really famous then except to food nerds (and still isn’t really famous now, I guess).  It also doesn’t hurt that he’s pretty much super-hot.  With a chest tattoo.  I hated chest tattoos until about six months ago when I inexplicably started loving them.  And I mean love.

They get really great and diverse bands for the show, like the Mountain Goats this week, and the bands always sound really good in the studio and come off as really normal and fun during the interviews.  Even Rufus Wainwright didn’t seem terribly douchey when he was on, which is a feat unto itself.  Overall, it’s just a really easy watch and since there is nothing on TV now anyway, its presence is very much appreciated.

Sometimes I wonder why I don’t just start a music blog.  Then I happen upon a music blog of a friend or acquaintance and remember why: it’s because I’m not a huge cunt

Pearl Jam - Alive (New York, 1992) (via TeamDZ)

1) This is the rehearsal video from one of the single greatest musical performances ever on SNL (I am not entitled to say that, but I just did, so suck it)

2) This is really fucking unbelievable in how good it is

3) Watch them all move and revel in the 1992-ness of it all

4) Ed looks hot.  In fact, this was probably his hottest period, so drink it up

Man, have I been useless at tumbling lately or what?  I know, I know.  I feel no inspiration as of late.  I’m sure it will come back soon, which I’m sure is great news to all of you (Caroline).  So I’m on Hypemachine right now and listening to Peter Gabriel cover various things.  He does the most depressing covers, ever, maybe.  They were of Flume and My Body is a Cage, so not the happiest songs.  Still, though, I didn’t realize Peter Gabriel was so emoXcore.  Listen at your own risk.
